Good Whiskey?

So has anyone tried this jameson stuff?
Excellent in my opinion. I actually prefer it over Crown or Makers Mark due to it's smoothness and body. Jameson is usually my first choice when drinking out, then Makers-->Crown, etc.

I've never forget the time time me and my buddy (now deceased) were slaming down Seagrams 7 on the rocks at a local hole-in-the-wall bar. On my 4th round, I had a little left in the bottom and happened to hold the cup at an angle and take a look. Noticed about 10 nats/fruitflies floating in the bottom. Apparently we were finishing off a bottle that had been sitting behind the bar, uncapped for some time. Needless to say my next drink was free. I figured the alcohol killed anything that was gona make me sick anyway, short of my liver:p

Great bourbon. Tastes very unique to me, of course, it's probably because I drink it rarely due to price. One of our nicer bars downtown has the Blue label...$20+ a shot:(
I just don't see how people can pay more than $40 a bottle for some liquor. Is the taste really worth the amount of money you spend on it?

I know my friends dad drinks Crown SR on rocks EVERY NIGHT. OF course they are rich and have the money, but it just doesn't seam feasible to me.

If it's Johnny Walker, the red label is fine for my tastes. Runs about $6/shot. I agree, I'd never pay $20 for a shot, unless I wipe my *** with $100's:p

I drank a few bottles of that Crown Royal Special Reserve, but I gotta tell ya, I prefer the plain ol' Crown Royal to it. The SR is very smooth, but it is almost tasteless, to me. Part of the joy of drinking whiskey or Scotch whisky (my preference) is the flavor... hell, if I just wanted to get drunk without tasting it, I could start an IV and run in some pure grain alcohol. lol That would achieve the "drunk effect" without having the inconvenience of actually drinking. lol

Bottom line, the Crown SR is extremely expensive, but just pretty flavorless to me.

I prefer the gold over the blue. But it is nice to say you have a $150+ bottle around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Gold is good. Gold is wise.
