good substitute for terminals

Just hit up home depot and take a ring terminal with you. Make sure you get the ones with the nut already attached on the other end or life will be a *****. then just cut it down with a grinder and put those little caps, or nuts on to fasten it down. Idk what they're made of. Not copper though. They're like 1$ per terminal IIRC.

some pics for you.. these were rushed but you get the idea.

Why not just order some binding posts from Parts Express ? It wouldn't take any more effort than making this thread and trying to find a way to rig something up....................just order a set and you'll have them when you need them.

LOL. you mean a bolt? bolts have these said "nuts" on the end. if they dont its called all thread. lol. They have different kinds at home depot mainly stainless and aluminum of which aluminum is more conductive. i think they also have some zinc bolts but not sure of the conductivity of zinc. most guys run aluminum. i do. Its close to copper. lots of people run aluminum buss bars.. it works.. just get washers and make sure all your ring terminals are in between washers...

Bolts and nuts (nickel or brass) work fine, but I build all my boxes w/ direct 12ga OFC wire thru the box (for all 600wrms+ systems, lower power gets 14ga).

Cheaper than terminals or bolts. Just drill a hole thru the box to allow the wire to fit.

Then fill the hole w/ caulk or hot-glue. I prefer hot-glue since it cures quickly.
