I am looking to do a SPL box for fun and just use my current Sundown 1000D, nothing over the top. I am looking at getting a used motor, I can get a Mag V3 motor cheap but am also looking at the Nightshades woofercooker has but using only 1 stiff spider, using the SSA Icon motor I have sitting around or finding a used HDC3, Konaki or DD 9500 motor. What do any of you think would provide the best results with my 1000 watts, I am leaning towards the AQ option or the NS option.

that amp isnt big enough for a dd 9500 i had a shity quantium 4000 wired at 1 ohm on a 9515g and it was push n 1500rms tops and it wasnt enough it was loud but hardly moving that sub

too bad you dont have 2kw rms @ 1 ohm id sell you a bnib OLYMPUS 1612 it is a true sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I had an HDC315 on 1200w~ and it HIT... in my cadillac it did a 143.6 on music (young joc, goin' down)

1612 I have heard on a ZX1200 and it got a little stinky after about 3~ minutes... Of course i have no clue how he had the amp set or anything like that...

Yea, was considering getting a Mag V3 motor and having TeamPSI put a recone on it suited to what I want. The V3 motor has pretty good motor force and with the correct coil a fair amount of linear excursion, it could work well.
