whats a good brand of printers? i have an epson rx500 now and it sucks royal dick...

i had to print 16 copies of a document tonight just for it to print right. i think i'm gonna do something horrible to it when i get a new one.

im gonna just go to bestbuy and get the cheapest possible of a good brand....so what brand should i look for...

Does ink cost more than buying a cheap printer now-a-days? I've been wanting a printer for personal use but I Never bought one cuz ink cost so much. Any suggestions?

Not necessarily ...
Laser printers come with large cartridges (1000+ pages) and they can be easily refilled (3000 page refill kits for ~$10 off eBay). Downside is the cheap ones only print black and white.

The ultra-cheap colour printers are quite expensive per page for ink. Some companies (i.e. HP) are moving towards small, inexpensive cartridges to persuade people to purchase the printer, but changing your cartridges every 100 pages is a pain in the ***.

The iP3300 I listed gets ~500 pages for about $20 USD on the black cartridge, making it quite cheap to print documents. The colour cartridges are also pretty large and around $15 USD each. It goes for $90 CAD here, so probably $75 USD there.

Any suggestion on a black and white printer? I've thought about laser printers in the past because of how fast they print, but I was never sure which one to get.

i second the samsung 2010 laser printer.. i got mine for like $65 on newegg (after rebates) and am still on the toner cartridge it came with (a year later)..

prints very fast and i havent had any problems. Great printer for a student who doesnt really need color.

well, i picked up an HP DeskJet F340 all-in-one today from wally world.

$69.95, and i love it. prints nice and fast.

My dad bought a new printer so I got his HP Photosmart 7350. I love it, much better than my old HP Deskjet 632c.
