good ideas for neons or strobes in car

I put some leds in my 200 grand am.A very simple install, But they are no longer in there. One thing I did not like is you could see the led if you looked into the vent, and if it was not on a perfect angel, if was to narrow and looked liek crap. I just tapped into the cigarete lighter, crimped them together and got a switch from radio shack, took an hour or two to install, I made a few holes in the vents that our unnoticible.

this was my project car. their are 3 blue led's in the dash and 1 blue led switch in the cigarret lighter. the first 3 pics. led is way better than neon.

forget neons...go with cold cathodes! a bit smaller and brighter than neons and also durable.

here's a pic of two 12" white cathodes i installed in my engine bay. no need for a shop light.

here's a pic of my license plate being lit up by one 6" white cold cathode

here's a pic of two 12" aqua cold cathodes i installed inside my car. notice the difference in brightness between the normal incadescent bulb and the cathodes.

if anyone is interested in cathodes. let me know, i help sell them for a friend.

if your down for cuttin some stuff, take off your pillars (any of them) cut a whole a little smaller then the length of the neon but yet wide enough, take some plexi attach it to the inside to cover the hole u just cut, and mount the neon, its out of the way, and still has potential of lighting the car up.

LED! brighter, last longer,you dont need a transformer and the colour matches. neon will differ from bulb to bulb . yeah LED is more money but it will last. walmart neons don't last.
