Good Idea or Bad Idea?

Normally in most trunk installs, facing the rear will yield the most output. But I have come to find that in the past to trunk installs I have done facing the rear and front were equal to the ear. Either pushed up against the rear of the trunk facing the cabin, or up close to the seats facing the rear.

Do what is the easiest for you.

alright then. Thanks for all the feedback. One more thing though. The shop guy also said that if me and my friend had the EXACT same system my friend would always bump louder than me cuz he has a hatchback...True or False? (96 Hatch Civic DX Vs. 98 Civic Coupe HX)

He made a very open ended blanket statment.

Sure a hatchback has the ability to be louder due to the cabin design. But driver placment, box used... all will determine the output.

But as far as vehicle design. Yes a hatch back can normally get louder than a coupe.

It's not like a BIG difference is it? I mean he's getting the MTX Thunder 9500 15" and he thinks he'll be bumping louder than me for this very reason.

well the box that ur friend has it in is also some thing u must consider and the how much power he will be giving the sub. I mean that are alot of varible that u have to be able to give u an accurate answer. But put it this way his cabin gain is more than yours.
