Good Heavy Metal?

Way to good to be called heavy metal, but listen to Between the Buried and Me, particularly their 2007 album Colors.
And it doesn't hurt to pay respect to the backbone of metal. Look for Judas Priest's Painkiller, British Steel, or Screaming for Vengeance.

x2...old school metal...my son listens to modern metal, rock etc..was bagging on what i listen to , then i noticed he is now listening to alot of old school rock and metal...

try - walls of jericho, killswitch engage, hatebreed, dry kill logic & mudvayne. iunno bout heavy metal but its all pretty intense lol.

try some real metal. belphegor, mayhem, dimmu borgir, amon amarth, satyricon, emperor, naglfar, and of course slayer. all the newer american metal sounds more like emo with the gains cranked:verymad:

Painkiller, IMHO, doesn't belong grouped in with the other two.

Steel and Vengeance were classic Priest through and through.

Halford was too busy screaming and squealing on Painkiller.

Different era, different feel, not "real" Priest to me...

Shoot - Turbo was better to me...

probably starting to fall away from the "heavy metal" genre but its all pretty good stuff.
