Good Head Unit

Alright well i need some advice on what would be a great head unit. i am very good with tech stuff so if it kinda complicated to learn i can do it just dont make it hard for me to drive and use it lol. but i need need need to be able to use my ipod classic. mp3 cds and regular cds. channel preset buttons. 5 or 6 band EQ. output for subs, amp and eventually speakers. good lighting so that i can read it during a sunny day. different color lights to chose from. and lastly i want it to tell what the name of the song that is playing is, so that if i am listening to the radio and i really wanna know what song it is, it will tell me. $400 price limit max! but id like to be more around $200-350. i know its quite a bit of stuff i need but im new to this so just making sure i get what i need //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Get the new (yet to be available) 2012 Pioneer DEH-80PRS. It's 2-way active front capable with time alignment, independent multi-band (more than 10) equalizer for each side, and automatic calibration for all of this with a microphone. There is bluetooth support for the phone, USB port, etc. The MSRP is $419.00, which is considered a good value for all these features, but I am sure online prices will drop into low $300s once it's available.

I just ordered a Pioneer 9400BH, which has HD radio built in, Bluetooth built in as well and streams audio as well, which is a plus. It is 4 volts, which is also a plus for keeping amp gains down and running more efficiently. I went through many decks, even DD's in the 500 dollar range and I just weighed my options and ended up, sticking with my guns/original budget of 200 dollars. I think for the price, it will be hard to beat.

Also still does CD's and plays many different colors and has awesome read outs on the screen.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I searched for hours....many days, lol! This is what I ended up with. I would check it out, currently in stock off Amazon and Crutchfield.

The PRS top of the line looks amazing, but it will be up there in price and will sell quick!

I just got a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X796, it was $220. Has HD Radio, Cd, Compatible with iPhone and Android. It has three sets of pre-amp outs at 4v, bluetooth, and a 2 year warranty. Best head unit I could find for the price.

I had the x-595 before this Pioneer and loved it, till I made the mistake of keeping car on when taking mid out and bare wire hit metal and now haz engine noise out the whazoo, but grounded it. Was enough to switch decks, lol!

I am sure you will like that deck. I just wanted something different.

Enjoy!

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...

There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
