I went into the usual audio shop to see how much I could get a Solo X18 for

He said he could probably do 2 X Mono Alpine 2000 Watts and the Solo X 18" for about 3 grand(Box not included), sounded like a pretty solid deal to me thoughts?

One other question I have is Kicker's 2500 Watt Amp goes for about $2500 each, but alpines 2000 Watt only goes for about $900, is the quality difference really that much?

Unless you prefer the dealer warranty at twice the price, you can do a lot better on ebay.

You can directly contact the owners of these companies, too. Not ordering through ebay or anything like that. Dealer warranties.

For subs? Quite a few other options. Could get a couple 9500 series Digital Designs subs. An incriminator audio 21" warden would be great if you want to spend that much.

For 3 grand, you can get so much better.

yeah dude for 3 grand that shop can go **** itself. you're much better off getting equipment here new or used.

you can find kicker 2500's for around 400-500 used like new here.

solo x's i see around 400 ish around here.

let these people guide you, you're in better hands here

Maybe was just an error in their pricing....

nope audio shops loving rippin people new a**holes they sell products off at their suggested retail, maybe 10% less if they're having a sale. and imo they make you think they truely know everything about what they are doing, while some may have a lot of knowledge it can be very biass. only good thing is you get a dealer install warranty, but if you run the system right you really shouldnt have to worry bout blowing anything.

I'm canadian too and nope the price they told you for the kicker zx2500.1 is what tey sell it for. Heck a local shop wanted to sell me the kicker zx1500.1 for $1800.00. You can also check woofersetc.com, they are authorized and offer a warranty. Tehy have the kicker zx2500.1 for $869.00 and the solo x 18 for $999.00. So you can get the same equipment with a warranty for over $1000.00 less or go with different names like sundown or ia or rd or aq. For your price range you have a lot of choices. You can even get a couple 15 inch mach 5 spl's(canadian company) and then find a amp to power them. do some research before you pay too much
