I came across a local person selling a 10W7, in a box...it appears to be a pre-fab audio-enhancers box. The amp he has is a 500.1 Arc Audio amp. Nice little setup. He had it hooked up in his mini-cooper and I listened to it for a bit tonight. It really knocked me on my *** how loud that 10'' sub is. Much louder then my 12'' L7 in a big-ol ported box.

He is asking $450.00 for the box and the sub. The sub does have a small crease / dent in the cone. It doesn't appear to be hindering performance or anything like that. I was seriously impressed by this thing, it sounded amazing, and I have a feeling on my ZS750.1 with my nice install, it will be better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I am just wondering if this is a good deal. I know these things hold there values pretty good. My ZX750.1 has a birthsheet of 938WRMS @ 2 ohms. I think personally, it's a good deal. I just want to know if I should offer him less, take his offer...etc. I talked to a local JL dealer and he said it is a steal.

Whats everyones opinions?

Its going in my 2011 Scion TC BTW..

doesn't sound like a great deal by any means. Sounds about right I suppose, but IDK too much about w7s in the first place.

I would always suggest a lowball offer, unless he is firm on the price

lowball the balls out of him (offer like 250) and say the words "cash in hand" or "ready to pay" and see what he says. add that it's all you can spare right now and dont need it but will take it off your hands as soon as possible. this is how i primarily make my money to fund my car audio projects. when people have an oppurtunity, most will take the cash quickly. only the patient and very few hold out for their listing price, they mostly hear the words cash and get giddy.

I make around 5 grand a year doing this so i know what i'm talking about. also, jl is a VERY easy brand to sell to retards. and since all teh dealers mark them up so high you can mark them up a little and still make a lot of money. if you're willing to put in the time and effort you could make 200 bucks for about 2 hours of work

add on to that, i sold a jl w7 10 to someone with a box for 400 the other day, and had a tc-3000 15" for sale also, same price. He wouldn't even listen to the tc, was convinced jl was the best there is. the 3k is better than 4 of those stupid things

I held out, and just picked up a 12W7 + Enclosure for 450 SHIPPED on ebay.

good buy, i love my w7 in my blazer in the JL HO box... but even if your setup is better remember the mini has 1/3 the airspace your car does and its all open. But your 12 should be at least as loud as his. Guess it all depends on the box you go with? you building one?

I dont know how your L7 wasnt as loud as the W7, though. And that isnt a great deal, but as long as you are happy. I remember my friend told me he got a W7 off Craigslist for $110. It was a 10". I was just dumbfounded, but some people are really hurting for $, or dont know what they have.

The original sub that I was going to buy, 10W7 with the ported box, for 450. No amp..

What I bought tonight..12W7 + Box (not sure what kind, not a JL Box) for 405 +45 S/H. I think that's an awesome deal. Back in 2007, I bought a BRAND NEW AUTHORIZED 12W7 from a dealer in Harrisburg PA at a car show. 350..I sold it later because I sold the car. It was in an AudioEnhancers JUG1S enclosure that I got when I worked at good old circuit city. I had it hooked up to a ZX1000, and the thing was insane. I hit 143.9 on a termlab at a db drag show that summer. I might go with that same box, I don't have the time nor skill to build a box, and for the money, I think those audio enhancers boxes are pretty god **** good for being "prefab". I have to see how it sounds first...or even if that box will fit.

Powerwise, The ZX750 will do it for now, I will probably match it up with a JL 1000/1, or even a JBL 1200.1 that a friend is selling. Time will tell.

I got a pair of 8w7s for $150 locally a few months ago. I guess thats just a case of people not knowing what they have. I ended up trading them and 75 cash for a Termlab, then sold the TL for 365 and an Ipod Touch. Either way, those little 8s impressed me but I dont feel theyre worth their retail price or even what people try to get out of them used...

Either way, I'm happy. The seller told me about the install/car/etc..And just from talking to him, it seems like it was taken care of. We'll see.
