What will happen if I use a 50 hz tone but play a 30 hz song? Will I get clipping if I run the same volume as I did when I set the gains?

It'll just sound better if you tune it to the amount of hz you mostly listen to. That's probably another reason for the remote gain.

volume has nothing to do with the frequency

the only time you need to set gain at a specific frequency is if you have some sort of equalization going on, such as a bass boost, in which case the eq needs to be on, set to how you're going to use it, and the gains set at the PEAK frequency

the only other POSSIBLE factor in a slight clip at freqencies lower than the one you set your gain at, is that impedance tends to drop the lower the frequency
