is stealing A HU even close to worth it. 85% of HU's have detachable faceplates. and if they dont they prolly arent worth more then 100 bucks anyway. So say they steal a HU without a face plate. How much could tha tpossibly sell for.... minus ebay fees lol. but even if they do have a faceplate. If its ripped out of a car. probley 50 bucks max.

50 bucks is not worth getting arrested or having the shit beat out of you.

if it is stolen properly you can sell it to blackmarket distributors for about 1/2 what it could move for used. Key thing is dont move it locally. get it out of town asap.

ive never done it but ive talked to people who used to be involved with it. Most stuff that used to be stolen locally here was moved to miami in a matter of days, even hours in some cases.

why would they steal something that isent gonna get them more then 30-50 bucks, if you look on ebay. The faceplates useally go for more then the actual HU without the face.

Most messed up part about car audio theft is around here, at least, 99% of it's committed by people who know the victim personally, and know it's in the car.

I had a guy help me change the starter in my old jetta, and wouldn't you know, my kenwood 979 was gone when i got out of work.

Haven't seen the dude since, not even sure what i'd say to him if i saw him again.

I've also heard a lot of times crooked shops will actually 'steal-back' equipment they sell/install for people, but i never knew how true that was.

I can sell the "body" of my h/u for about $100 and the faceplate for about the same.

But together they are only worth like $60 more
