Going shopping for a air nailer tomorrow

Went to HD, Lowe's, & Sears tonight...cheapest I found one for was $60. I was going to get some angle clamps, but I figured for the money I would spend on those I might as well just get a good nailer and call it a day (plus, it's a good excuse to buy one now).

While I was there I said something about going on e-bay and a framer overheard me. He said it's a good idea, but first to check pawn shops because he's seen quite a few there and has taken many there himself when he upgrades. Guess I'll be calling some shops tomorrow.

I found a few on e-bay that were refurbs, or factory blems. All were under $60 shipped with full factory warranty and retailed for well over $130. I'd rather get one local though cause I wanna build a box tomorrow. Patience > me.

That compressor is just fine.

The nailer will only need about 60psi and 3 gallons is plenty air for just running a gun.

If you can find a gun that does staples and nails thats even better.

Bought me a harbor freight one for like 20$. Works like a charm to me.

I prefer the porter cable ns150a. Its not a nailer but a stapler. Works amazing. 1 1/2 inch staples.

I'm spending $60 for something that's worth much more.

The ones on e-bay I'm looking at are factory blems=paint screw-ups, cosmetic wrongings: nothing mechanically wrong. Those give you great deals.

When I worked at the bike shop, blems were almost always 60% cheaper than regular frames.

Supa, I will definately look for a stapler/nailer combo. I'm hoping I'll find one somewhere and won't have to order off e-bay and wait. So far, I've found some KILLER deals on refurbished & blems, all with factory warranty.

i have a cheap bostitch stapler/brad combo, a nice dewalt framing nailer and a beat up old senco framing nailer. its too bad they are in storage 2200 miles away ;(
