IMO, very much so. Much better output, and all-around better sound. Also, it is really not that expensive, or time-consuming, to build a ported enclosure. $40-50 in materials, and a few hours to construct. I went from a 1 cube sealed to a 2 cube ported @ 36hz, and there was a huge difference on the same power. Give it a shot! And, as a safe-guard, take your time and build it well. That way, in the event you don't like the change, you may be able to sell it to someone. Good luck!

I went sealed to ported and BACK to sealed...........it just sounds better and more natural.

first i was sealed but then i went to ported and i noticed a big difference. ported FTW
