Going deaf in right ear...

My grandma went deaf in both of her ears for 30 years. She said the ringing was so bad sometimes she would fall on the ground crying and she thought about killing herself all the time. She had surgery on one of them so she can hear ok out of one, but its hard for her to participate in a large conversation and when she hears noises she can't tell which direction it came from.

that sucks man.. is there a particular incident or reason that caused her to go deaf in both of her ears? my grandma is blind in both eyes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

my ears are under constant attack and usually I don't realize it. half the time its playing music either playing my drums aor guitar which are loud, if its not that its my car but thats mostly 40hz damage, others include grinders jigsaws sawzalls air tools hammering lawnmowers and weed eaters all damaging my hearing more and more

I got four mounted tweeters in the front of my car so I know how bad those high snares can hit the ears ( probably should turn em down ) and I have had countless amounts of SPL blasted at me so I have probably done some reasonable ear damage myself, but I accept it and know that it is just part of car audio if you take it to the extreme like I and probably 90% of the people on this forum have done

Title says it all. my right ear is going deaf and I don't know what to do about it. SEARCH brought up that it's psychoacoustics (Left side seems louder, isn't) and improper imaging, so would kickpanels help?
Go see a doctor and get your hearing checked out....could just be a big gob of ear wax that needs draining...no pun intended

Well, it's none of the above. Basically, a long drive with loud music and improperly tuned gains. My hearing came back, but I haven't gone near the same volume level since. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif

For the curious: Alpine CDA 9807 / Rainbow SLC 6.5s + PPI PCX 280 / two IA 187 12s + Orion 1200. The problem I've learned is that the Rainbows are just incredibly efficient for comps. To the point where the gain on the PPI is as low as it can possibly go, and I still can't go much higher than 20 / 35 on my HU. I have thought about running them off HU power just to see if it helps.
