I am building my first box, and I am to the carpeting point. I didn't use rabbited edges(i think that is what they are called). How should I go about carpeting the box? It is a slot ported(4'') 4 cube 35 hz box. Should I just cover the entire box in one shot with one big piece of carpet(using spray adhesive of course)? Thanx.

Pm

i didnt use the rabbiting technique for my box cuz i was too lazy to go buy a rabbiting bit. i just wrapped the whole thing up...and for the sides, the carpet forms an X and meets in the middle

HEY, i made that tutorial //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah I know... I posted in that one too towards the end... it was a good one... I do it different, but it looks the same at the end, and your way is already documented on here with pics... It is effective, simple and clean.

offtopic...when do you think you might be getting that CNC machine? I may have a job for you.

Well I have two CNC machines where I work, but they are both set up different.. One I am going to utilize for making my illuminated front speaker baffles.

(Lay up stainles steel, brushed aluminum, chrome, or virtually any color of plastic laminate anyone could ever want over 1/4" plexi then using the CNC machine I can engrave into it what ever font I want any logo I want such as "JDAudiobox" or Fisher Customs" and it would reveal the plexy from undernieth... The MDF baffle behind it would be painted black so when the LED's are not on it just looks black behind it... When the LED's are on it can glow what ever color LED I want...

The other Machine is for nested cuts like what I would be doing to cut out the pieces... I can't use that machine which is why I need to buy my own... I want to get this $35,000 model made by AXYZ... I am going to try and get it with in three to six months... It is a huge financial obligation and I need to set up good before I go make the purchase... So it will be a while.. Until then I am using teh striebig to cut the panels to exact size and I am using my Jasper circle jig mounted on my Freud 3 1/4 hp plunge router. I have huge router table set up for rounding my edges and such...
