Check out http://www.diysubwoofers.org there is an Excel spreadsheet you can download that will allow you to model and predict the output of a subwoofer in a car. I think it's in the ported section (ported.xls). Just put 0 in the section where it asks for tuning frequency. You can "tune" it by changing the box size. Usually a large box will be louder on low freqs. w/ less power but you lose control of the woofer cone if you go too big. You can change the numbers around til you get what your looking for. It's not 100% but it will get you in the ballpark.

Usually when people refer to tuning they are referring to porting an enclosure to a certain frequency. If you go to the website I posted it will give you all the info you need. I don't posses the typing skills neccessary to explain all of it here. Also check out http://www.bcae1.com for some good info and helpful calculators. Read, Read, Read! Good luck!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

I really dont understand why people are bashing other people for what kinda subs they have. DUDE GET OFF THIER NUTZ!!!! Who cares what kind of subs you have. Some people are budgeted. Not everyone's daddy buys them stuff. So make do with what you got. If the person likes em thats all that matters. I agree that audiobahns aren't good but that is my opinon. It's all relative to the person. Sorry i had to get that off of my chest. But yeh the sealed box will sound better but prolly not get as loud. But since that box is prefab and prolly not made for the subs it might be louder if you can make it bigger. So do it and find out. It's like 20 bucks for a sheet of MDF.

i used a calculator online and decided to make 2 seperate boxes use 3/4 mfd wood 15x15x16. which is 1.7 cubic feet. audiobahn specs for this sub is 1 or 2 cubic feet do yall think this is good.

are what would yall recommend
