GM side terminal bolt removal

I was looking for some idear's about how to remove the bolt from the stock GM side terminals so that I can put my new adapter bolt in. On my impala i don't have much slack in the wire and the engine compartment is so small. Don't have much room to work with.

just a pair of pliers should work. If worse comes to worse, Craftsman makes a tool specifically for removing GM battery terminals.

Sorry about miscommunication, I meant to ask how to you actually take the bolt out of the terminal, I want to add more ring terminals with my new stinger fancy bolt, that allows you to add more ring terminals

Its a #7 metric I think...its been a while.

Then get a pair of pliars and pull. It will come out. The only thing holding it in to the ring is the red or black plastic pieces that protect the terminals. After that its just as simple as putting the new one in and getting it to sit correctly. Then bolt in place.

I'm not folloing you... so you're replacing the facoty bolt with the stinger bolt and need to know how to fit more ring terminals on it?

No. My brain hurts now. I was just wondering what was holding the bolt to the terminal after it was removed from the battery.

Not that I am aware of. 99% of the GMs use the red protective sleve to hold the bolt in place. Take a pic of one of the terminals and I can tell you for sure.

Yeah mine has the red protective sleeve. So I should be good to go. My new bolt has a bigger diameter so I will prolly have to cut away some of that protective sleeve so that the new bolt will have a good connection.
