Global warming and me

wow, carbon dioxide is one of the most important greenhouse gases, its produced in such high volume its probably the one we should be looking at closest.

Hello china, can you please burn some more coal for the world ?

lol thank you. at least someone here can relate to what im saying. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but see thats where you are wrong. cholorflourocarbons and other gases like methane are much more harmful to the environment, but are no where NEAR the levels that carbon dioxide are. but im done, im not going to debate environmental issues over the internet, so believe what you want to believe.
it's not really what i believe. i don't think the problem is carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as much as lack of vegetation to convert it to oxygen. the rain forests are depleted and as long as we cut everything to make way for 6 billion people and rising it'll be an issue. it's simple over population.

trees absolutely take down Co2 levels in the atmosphere, but guess what happens when they die or get burned down, it gets released again.

Plankton in the oceans also take down minute amounts of Co2, but again, the number is staggering so they are a considerable help in taking down Co2 levels, however

Warming of oceans is killing the plankton, shooting up the levels of Co2 exponentially.

right. there's the problem. it's not so much the release of dioxide as it is the lack of vegetation to consume it. i think we're trying to solve it the wrong way.

its like a vicious cycle. and if the oceans warm too much, the polar caps melt not only causing the sea levels to rise, but also making the ocean less solvent, in turn completely screwing the currents of the ocean.

did you read? Its still an issue that needs to be taken care of, trees can help us in the short term with keeping the level down. But its not the end all be all solution.

Its really a crazy thing to comprehend, ice caps shrinking, more ocean means more dark areas on the earth for the suns rays to absorb into.

The ice caps act almost like a mirror, the more they shrink the more gets absorbed into the water.

I don't think the world is ready for what is coming.

i read somewhere that one of the biggest problems isn't so much that we're releasing dioxide and monoxide in the air, but that we are using water as coolant for our industrial machinery and releasing that heated water into oceans and rivers, raising the water temp.

the only real solution to the problem is cutting the issue at heart, and thats stop relying on fossil fuels as our primary source of energy. i mean we're going to completely deplete them in a few decades as it is. now the vegetation issue, i can see that as a good idea, but its not going to solve the problem. this why i do not like the president because he would not sign the kyoto treaty in 2002 which would require all nations to introduce laws to cut back on carbon dioxide emmisions. and its really scary to think about it, i mean the generation 100 years from now are going to be completely screwed.

i wouldn't doubt thats contributing as well. i mean just think if china did that for every machine.
