Glassing molds into enclosure....help

Going to be attempting my first fiberglass project within the next 2 weeks.

I'd like to get a little crazy with it and make some figures/shapes within the fiberglass.

I plan to mold them out of some form of material, and either glass the mold in or the shape of the mold into the enclosure.

This is what i need help on. What material would be best to accomplish this?

Either i have to sculpt it or if i can make a mold out of it.

Any1 have pictures or this done?

Also best place to get fiberglassing materials??? Thx guys!

best place for glass resin / mat is generally (i'm told) a marine / boat supply shop.

What about any online spots? Found some but they seem either expensive or shady to me.

Any1 know about the mold??

all the marine shops around here are expensive as hell...the hardware store is by far cheaper (around here)
