Glass break sensor

Well, what type of glass break sensor is it? I know the ones they use in houses are sound activated, and are tuned to certain frequencies that breaking glass makes, you can trigger them really easily with jingling keys close to them.

And if it's a motion sensor, have fun, mine goes off constantly if i leave my windows cracked, even the sun reflecting off the interior triggers it, and especially my parking pass if the wind hits it.

cant you turn down the sensativity??

but there are lots of special tools for breaking glass easily...esp. for emergency situations....sharper image always has one in their magazines, its for car saftey...looks like a little hammer with a point on the end of it. Glass break sensor is a good thing

umm if sun is setting yours off then you have a weird problem!! but thats why i dont like the prox sensors.

you should have very few problems with the glass break microphone. they can be set off by a lot of things, like keys in front of them. But aside from messing with it to see what sets it off they very very very rarely false trigger the alarm.

Now some things like a strong spring loaded center punch can break a window with low vibration/noise but most of the time the sensor will pick it up!!

i get an alarm that goes off if you open the door, trunk and hood and goes off if you break a window or jack up the car

AND

has a battery in the siren

AND

put the siren in a place thats super hard to accsess

there's also a glass breaker out there that looks like a 2 D cell batteries end on end that'll break glass quite easily.

angle change is a good thing. Most shock sensors arent as effective if you are on an extreme angle so theives have learned (from a certian movie) to jack the car up on an angle if you are going to break in.

I am a self-employed Security Alarm Tech and used to work for ADT.

Just wanted to post and state the facts about home alarm glass breaks. Most all the new sensors out now have dual technology (high pitch sound from actual glass pane shattering & low shock from hit on the window frame) to help prevent false alarms. Both have to trigger at the same time to activate alarm.
