so I had a choice.... either glass the doors right off the bat or install them into the sides of the door, about the same area as my hip.

I was thinking about getting a 4 inch driver in to the factory spot so I get a 3 way setup.

Thought?

id glass teh whole bottom part of the door. and put the mids/tweets etc. closer together.

now that you have that hole...I'd glass the bottom of the door and keep your drivers closer to the front. Maybe using the space that you made for a sealed/ported area for midbass?

Horrible, Horrible location.

Even if you go with a 4" driver to go in the factory locations, that's still very poor placement of that midbass driver you have installed at the rear of the door.

If you want to go 3-way, 'glass the smaller components (4" midrange and tweeter) into the kicks and mount that midbass driver in the factory locations.

ooooo, that is just so wrong I hate to say. Get that speaker out of there and put it up front where it belongs. Seal up the hole and make a proper baffle board for both mids.

1 problem is that I can make kicks, the area is too small

So if I wanted to install a 3 way setup it would have to be in the doors.

I was planning on running the 6.5 from ~80-1000 and the 4inch from 500 - ~4k
