Girlfriend car

Hey all,
Haven't been around in a while... been busy with school and work. Figure you guys would know best, so I'm back with a question: What car is a good choice for a teenage girl?

My girlfriend is turning 16 next month and getting her license, and I was going to surprise her with a car (I'd make payments on it until she gets a job in a few months).

My dream car was always a 1960-1970 Impala convertible, but she doesn't like classic cars or square cars. She wants something small, but I hate small cars. Her mom was gonna give her the family's mini-van (like a 10 year old Dodge) but she said she'd rather walk than drive it. I don't see the big deal, I'm taking the mini van and fixing it up when they get rid of it.

Thanks for the opinions guys!
Sorry bud, but I think you might just end up shooting yourself in the foot by doing this. I mean you are 15 years old and you're wanting to go buy your girlfriend a car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

BTW if you do go and end up buying her a car, make sure its in her name, because Im sure you wouldnt want your insurance through the roof if she gets in a fender bender.

Man, Fuck *****es. Don't do anything that they wouldn't do for you. You will end up regretting it at one point or another.. And if she is that high maintenance now, RUN.

Totally agree with you on this. I was with my girlfriend for a year and a couple months during high school, and we were inseprable. College came, I joined a fraternity, came home every weekend to see her, we were in love, completely in love. She decides to be a dumbass, and now we are on a break, and im gettin ready to go back to school, and go hunting for some girls.. Keep up with your bro's, as they will be the people who help you the most through stupid shit with girls. I am learning the hard way... I have a good feeling things will work out between us, but next time I will be a little more cautious.. I mean, she is going to school where I am going next year.. So yeah man, you will regret the car thing... Good luck though if you do, I wish you the best of luck...

Oh, I know... only reason I said most likely was because if she wanted a $14,000 Camry or Scion and I made payments for 2 months, it would be nothing.
Not directed towards you specifically bimma, just wanna get it out there: I know what I'm doing as far as money and that, I just want car suggestions and pros and cons if possible. I'm smart enough to know that girls screw guys over and I know the steps I'll have to take to make sure I'm not a guy who gets screwed over.
You kids think you got the world figured out....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I wouldnt do it Kenny! Even if she gets her parents name on the loan and you make payments. Your too young to be worry about stuff like this. I would just do what someone else said, take her to dinner, movies and make her laugh. I am sure if you are with her down the road that then you could think about doing something like this, but not now mang! Good luck bud!

Thanks, yeah, it was a spur of the moment thought that I thought I had figured out... but some reasoning got me thinking that maybe it wasn't such a bright idea. I just want her to have the world.

And for anyone who wants to argue with what I just said, **** off! Just because I want her to have the world (which is how I believe women/girls should be treated) doesn't mean I should dump her or that she's high maintenance. I asked for car advice, not relationship advice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thanks guys!

I get my license in July (she's 3 months older than me) but I already have a car and fixed up how I want it.
I'm going to put away money in a mutual fund when I turn 16... it's like my new age resolution. I just want my girlfriend to be able to drive when all of her friends are driving, her parents' business isn't doing that great (from my understanding) and when I mentioned a car to her mom she wasn't too joyful.
I suggest an IRA.... and mutual funds are for lazy people. Real investors don't use mutal funds. You can still mitigate risk without fooling with a mutual fund or an index fund. However, if you just want to put money away without much homework, then mutual funds are a pretty safe bet.

Yugo? Man you're like 17 or so, dont go spending all that money on some chick. Just my 2 cents.
I agree, take it from someone 10 years your senior. You'll regret throwing that money away one day:) Newsflash: The girl you are with at 15 more than likely isn't the one you'll marry. Unless she is going to pay you back, don' t do it.
