gf/wife gets mad when you turn up the system?

I'm single now, but in the past I never turn it up while others, including my girlfriend, are in the car. Simply out of respect, and for the sake of conversation.

It seems to be dependant on what I'm listening to. If it is something we both like then she doesn't complain. Strangely she doesn't much care for any of Metallica's first three albums at extreme volumes....

Like prowler said, it depends on what I'm playing.

She'll listen to pretty much any bill squier song as loud volumes, butwhen I play iron maiden at *insanely* loud volumes, she hates it.Or any rap.

One time she was *****ing about her ears hurting, not even 1/4 volume.She thinks the factory bose system in her vehicle is loud enough for any sane person.I replied to that with a "well, check me into the looney bin".She didn't like that.I have to have hers waaaaaaaay up just for me to be able to "deal with it".

In short, it depends on what I'm playing.

some people's hearing is more sensitive... my g/f will turn her system up till she says it's hurting her ears and I'll barely be able to hear it
I know she bumps it though... sometimes we get in the car and it's up pretty loud... but I never bump mine with passengers unless requested
