Getting rid of "rail rust"

Okay, my car is white.. It looked white when I bought it..no spots or nothing. Couple days ago it was warm out so I took my car to the wash. Washed it good and everything and saw a bunch of gold spots along the side of my car and a lot on the back end of the vehicle.. So I visit the local car wash place and the guy said it was rail rust. The dust off the train wheels (I guess my car was transported by train) stuck on the car paint and it's now rusting.. I tried to scrape it off...a few spots came off with no issues...but there's a lot of them that are stuck on the vehicle. Is there anything I can use to get it off with just a spray and wipe... I tried WD-40...removed a little bit but not much. Any ideas? Local body shop wants to charge me $125 for an acid bath...which I find a little overpriced.

try the claybar, mcguires should still sell a kit that comes with 2 bars and quick detail spray. easy to use just takes time... and try using a cleaning wax if the clay doesnt remove it all.
