getting dvd player to play through speakers?

hey I have 2 quick questions.

if i was to plug in RCAs from a homevideo DVD player into say, the front channel of my HU, and use a power inverter to run the DVD, would the DVD content play out of my speakers?

my second question is, is there any way to use a portable DVD player and make the audio play out of your speakers? I looked at the audio input or output of the DVD player and the plugins are a lot smaller. could this somehow be plugged into the aux port of my hu?

btw my HU is a pioneer 8600.

For your first question, The answer is NO, but it is possible. You need This Part in order to be able to hook up, its an adaptor that will allow you to do it.

The answer to your second question is purchase a cable that utilizes the headphone jack from your portable dvd player, and turns it into RCA male. Click here to see There are more other stores that sell this cable, and for cheaper. With the adaptor above you can easily listen to it through your cars system.
