you are correct tho, black is way hard to keep clean...but doesn't make the painting hard

black is one of the easiest, if not the easiest. Blends well, and black is black ....for most vehicles.....eeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssssy

I Agree with the second part. Although he is correct, black does show blemishes. Any waves in the metal will show. Most small dents will show and every scratch. Black looks good but only when its clean.

you are better off takin neons out the vents and paint the calipers black and rolling with a silver paint....finishmaster has plenty of silvers....just fine one to your liking and a near match for ur OEM color. like i said unless they are gonna take engine out, doors and trunk lid off and paint every single jam and crevice of your car....its better to go with a similar to stock color.

i actually painted a few cars in my auto body class in HS. I wouldnt be 2 worried the teacher usually wont let the window lickers touch cars that aren't donated or for practice.

I spoke with the teacher over the phone.

He said that they do take out the engine normally and they will paint the door jams for 50 extra bucks, so i think Ill pay that and get it black. or maybe a dark blue.

yes but that local body shop is going to take every detail and do it 100% who knows with the class....i know me and my roommate charge a good 1500 for a full paint....(removal and painting the entire car,clear, and wet sand&buff)but we are in orlando/naples...if you want the cheap job or only doing stock color its about 800.

HOK is a hard paint to work with so I hear. Sikkens and Glasurit are the only lines I have worked with personally though.

The vocational school in my area does killer paint jobs for the cheap. Helps that the teacher is very good at what he does.

If they're stripping the car to a bare shell, go for it. But remember you get what you pay for. My friend's Charger got keyed all around. The shop has to repaint the WHOLE car and it is costing the insurance company $6k. Nice shop though...
