For about 120 shipping both ways Im going to get my old nuked 15" RE HC reconed into a 18 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyone that has used the 18" HC please comment on your thoughts of the driver!! It was good as a 15, so I have high expectations for the 18!!

I plan on craming it into sealed box in a 98 toyota camry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Seeing as it will be the same driver and suspension, in my opinion, in a similar sized sealed enclosure you'll see a higher Q. Combined with the larger cone it should hit a little harder and play just as low, as well as have and extra decibel or two.

Similar to the 15? Because the was in 3.5net @34hz. Im thinkin of giving it ~5cuft sealed. I need to talk to RE about it though, ill probably end up calling them on Tuesday about it. The output should be great. Especially when I get a bigger amp again!

I was considering getting my 15" XXX reconed into an 18"....launched quite a debate over it. Some people said it woudnt be any louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif , but others (whose opinion I would think is valid) said it would make a nice difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So, be sure to post a comparison of 15"/18".

Curious, why put a sub in a 5^3ft sealed enclosure? I'm pretty sure I have read many times that putting a driver in an oversized sealed enclosure gives you nothing extra, not like increasing efficiency or changing peak in a ported design..

That was an estimate Im not sure what the recomended sealed is on it. I wanna say it was 4.3 to be exact, so with bracing and sub displacement ~5cuft

Changing sealed enclosure size will change the Qtc, which will have different sound, and generally they are more efficeient with power.
