is the autopage 860lcd better then the viper 791xv? this shop owner told me it was but im not sure if he was just trying to make a sale.

also so far ive called a couple shops and one said 500 for the 860lcd and the other said 600 for the viper 791vx, i also asked how much it would cost if i purchased the alarm somewhere else and had them install it and they both said about 250-300 for installation, are these normal prices or is this too high?

the autopage unit is a nice piece. it has better range then my 791. from an installer's perspective i like the viper better. (coming from an autopage dealer)

Viper came out with a new model. It's the 5900 its got better range (1 mile!!) and supposedly smaller brain case. My local dealer told me that it replaces the 791xv as the top-o-the-line unit.

Ill have to look that up. Alarms wont completely satisfy me until they have phone capability, and when the alarm goes off it calls your cellphone. Then Ill be impressed.
