Gasoline cars are the devil.

We live in America. It can be done. Didn't u eve read about the guy who made an engine which did not rely on gasoline and was shot supsoedly by crude oil manufacturers?
No, I haven't. There are several engines that don't rely on gasoline...

Are we just going to quote newspaper/magazine headlines?

You are a poor debater. I can share your sentiments somewhat as I think it's ludacris that we don't have alternates readily available yet.

That being said, a vehicle that does not rely on crude at all? What is it going to be lubricated with? What are the tires and interior to be made of? And how ungodly expensive should it be?

Shhhh, it's too early to be making sense. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Do you really think that this isn't being tried to SOME degree? Lets see, these alternative fuel sources that you may be referring to, such as hydrogen, are currently highly dependent upon oil as this is currently our best source of hydrogen. Not to mention, at the current rate of technological advancement, we will probably never see hydrogen as a viable fuel source because it's too volatile. Other sources such as electricity or solar power, among others, just aren't efficient enough or will be oh so godly expensive.

Secondly, you will not be able to do this overnight as you seem to be suggesting. It. Will. Destroy. Our. Economy. It will then proceed to destroy one of our biggest allies economy, Canada, which the US imports the most oil from. It also helps our economy just as much as the world's economy NOT to be completely self sufficient because the US simply cannot be the best at everything. It is impossible.

You are retarded. Lay off the green.

It will be expensive and think of how much it would cost to fix it if something went wrong? It will not happen in our life time...We will always need and rely on oil..

Wealthy people. Wealthy people, who aren't going to give up their Bentleys, or their Ferraris, or even their Caddillacs to drive any "new technology" cars while the working class puts to work in their Cherokees.
