yeah i said that before and it's still funny. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif at my wife's friend who got rid of a nice maxima for a ugly assss prius

So that whole 2.99 thing from Jeep, who cares? I mean just don't use the card right? Or do they have too use it?

Also we laugh now, but we weren't when gas was 4 dollars a gallon. And they will be laughing at us before too long. If you think these gas prices will stay this way for the long haul, well please give me whatever your smoking.

I'm still driving like gas is $4/gal, personally...I don't see this lasting long.
word.

I am basically driving to class and back. Getting about a week and a half out of a tank. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad gas has dropped down to 1.59 here.

Interesting note...My friend noticed that once the Olympics ended, the price of gas lowered. He says that China was buying all the oil for the Olympics, so they boosted the price?

I'm not sure how true this is.

I'm in the dark about why the price of oil is going down.

I remember when it was $144 dollars / barrel. Now they think it's gunna get down to $20?! That's nuts. I just wonder why it's happening.
Supply and Demand, my friend.
If Supply increases at a rate higher than Demand, the value of the product or service decreases.

If Demand increases at a rate higher than Supply, the value of the product or service increases.

China is one of the reasons. Another is that industries are slowing down production of various goods due to the economic slowdown, so less is being made, less is being shipped, all of which use some form of oil. Also, winter has historically had the lowest gas prices as people travel less and gas actually has less oil in it during winter (they add butane and other flammable material which ignites easier in cold weather).

A large portion of the decrease is the current strength of the dollar vs. other currencies - as bas as our economy is others are worse.

Bad economy also = reduced consumption.

No brainer that prices are down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

agreed. low and erratic oil prices aren't neccesarily a good thing over the long term.
