ever since installing my comps. The sub's performance has taken a drastic turn for the worse. I set the gains correctly (w/ dmm) givin it around 600w, increased the bass volume a lil on the HU.

When everything was all said and done, the subwoofer did not get as loud (my ears dint get used to the sub my rear view mirror did not shake at all like it used to) , and the sub did not play as low as it used to before installing my components.

i played daz dillenger's "my system" and on the reallly low parts, my sub didnt play anything!! I felt no rumbling like i used to. I checked all the crossovers, filters and everything, but they were fine.

sounds like something is mixed up. double check your RCA cables, wiring, and play around with the crossovers a little. check your deck settings too. If the sub isn't making any weird noises other than not playing as loud or as low, its probably not the sub that is causing the problem.

i doubt its the subs themselves, check all connections. got a voltimeter? i take it u installed an amp for ur components, and u may be pulling 2 much for the channels and the mono...dunno if that's it, but check and see as i cannot do any harm.

i dont understand that... if that is the case, should i lower the wattage on the comps or the sub amp?

hmmm that reminds me... when my brakes went out. i had to take the jack out from my spare tire well and accidently yanked the wires outa my box, and i think i mixed the + and - up... ill switch them up and come back with a report.
