Future of Head Units...?

My dad and i were talking about how you can take this stick of memory and plug it into your usb port and put files onto to it and then you can take the stick out and transfer it to another cpu with a usb port. So my question is, when are the headunit companys going to start making a cd player were you can take this stick of memory and plug it into your headunit so you dont have to burn cds anymore. Or will the record companys let them do that? What you guys think?

1000$ lol wow isnt that a nice price. I think ill stick to burning my cds lol. Maybe in a couple of years when the price comes down ill look into buying one lol. :) What you guys think about it? SS you gonna get one :)

I'll probably be toying around with one when it comes out, yes. It wont sell for $1000...thats MSRP I'm sure, it'll be a little lower.

Alpine wants the 9813 to sell for $400...well, thats their targeted retail price. It can be found for $320.

steve that piece is sweet, I am curious as to see what happens also when the cars go to 36 or 48 volts? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I dunno, I think I'd probably stick with what I have now and a Yellow Top.

I know but I meant with that increased power wonder what features they would add and what it could do

Also, wouldnt they have to up the internal electronics as they are only used to seeing 14volts?

ill be one of the first to make that conversion...but i wonder what our current amps hold in store for us...mabye 17v regulators...

48 volt electrical systems arent gunna change spl records very much.. its mostly just going to change amplifier design and the size of wire you run your system with.. it will be nice to use like 10 or 12 gauge wire for 1000+ watt amps.. but output will be limited since you wont still be seeing 150 amp alternators at 48 volts... i doubt it anyways

does anyone know if thats something that will happen in the near future? the 42 volt vehicle thing that is. I remember hearing about it like a year or so ago but no word as to any company that was gunna make the change yet
