Fusing 80 amps

In all honesty.. I don't use fuses to prevent x amount of current going through.. I use them to keep my car from catching fire..

 
Rule of thump is to fuse to the wire in the front, not the amp. You want the least amount of resitiance possible. But you still want to protect from the wire flaming up
This^^^ just because theres a minimum fuse rating for the amp doesn't mean thats the rating for the wire.

 
lol, yah, that, too, but not the original question. never fuse any higher than what the wire size can handle. technically, the amp fusing size is to minimize the extent of majic smoke, to smoke, not flames, inside the amp itself.
