Fuses

Hello CarAudio community.

I'll soon be a proud owner of a Alpine MRV-F450. My question is should I fuse the power wire close to the amp as well as near the battery. The amp has (2) 25 amp fuses. Is that just fusing overkill? I'd appreciate anyones infinite wisdom.

Rule of thumb, you always fuse at the source.

Once you got the cleared out of the way, you can fuse it again at the amp, but that's optional. It's a nice added protection for your equipment and car.

The purpose of a fuse is to keep the wire from catching on fire.

What you really want, is to install a parellelling AC genarator with a string of Christmas lights, to really show off your amp wiring. Also, put on a PYLE sticker on your window to let everyone know your hardcore. Bubbles helps to (he's back in town).
