FU 18 box...

I just ordered a Planet Audio FU-18, and i was wonderin the box I am going for an SPL set up.. im gonna eb competiting, it is going into the back fo a grand cherokee, and im going to tune it to 50hz, and plug it up to have 30hz.. So how many cubes do you guys think i should make it?? Cuz i know the stroker says like 6 tuned to 45hz, and thats for completely SPL, so how much of a difference is the FU-18 in space wise?

Please could someone help me out.. there isnt too much info on it, Planet Audio recomends a 6.5 cubes, but usually when the company gives out deminsions, you can usually tweek them to make it louder.. i tried to get a hole of the guy on here who has delt with him, but he hasnt responded to me.. so could someone please help me out with this....

it should model up the same as the stroker. ima gonna try one in 10 cubes tuned high this weekend. i'll let you know how it goes.

aight thanx man, because i really want to go all out in size, and i can fit up to a 14 cube box in the back of my jeep, with it being level with the back seats, so if 8-10 will work good, then thats whut im gonna do..... Let me know!

blah. wierd sub. i lost about 1.5db's

it peaked really low, 51hz. the sx peaks around 55-56hz in my car. crazy thing is...we put it in my teammates car and he got the same score @ 51hz w/ twice as much power.

gets crazy loud to the ear, just metered lower. other than that, it's a very nice sub

I've been looking at those subs on ebay and I'm debating on getting one. How loud did it get and what amp were you pushing with it?

don't get me wrong, it's a sweet azz sub. i was only running it with about 700w, spkrman was using about 1400w....it will take much more than this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif i believe we both did a 149.2 on the TL with it.

box recomendations imo - about 6-7 cubes, 150" port, 40-45hz tune....should slam

How are the 15's of these subs? I'm going with 2 15's in my car. I want lots of bass, but also good sq. How is the sq from these subs? I know the old strokers were by no means good for sq, are these the same.

and does some one have some pron from this thing? i wanna see how the excursion on these looks. I know its weird looking....

Well i got myne today from UPS, and its lookin dam good!! The box im going for is gonna be 7 cubes tuned to 45hz and prob give it around 125-150 sq inchs of port...... And i am gonna try to get it metered some time soon... And i am shooting for 150 with it.. i dont think thats too hard of a goal.. i am gonna be tryin many different techniques to get me there!!!
