I have a used Scosche Passport available. Essentially what happened was Apple changed the voltage at which the new iPods charge compared to the old iPods. In order to charge a newer iPod from an iPod compatible HU you may need this. I had to use it with my iTouch on my Eclipse CD7000 and my 9887 before I installed my bluetooth. Now that I have bluetooth I no longer need this.
