they were like that when shipped to me. but if i had to guess, i would say, since its an amplifier, somebody mounting it

Those are the 5750s...they look identical to that one in your picture, and have a blank black heat sink...I said this in the last for sale when there was 2 of these (daves)...sick amps, they do the power hands down.
