model #:C608GTI

- power handling: 150rms/600 peak per side.

- Crossover Frequency:3.5kHz, 24dB/oct

- 2inch voice coil on the mid

- titanium tweeter

- tweeter level can be adjusted at -2, 0, or +2 db

here is the website to read more about them, or look at the manual: http://www.jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=C608GTI&cat=GTI&ser=GTI

the story: i had an explorer, traded it in and got a 2006 subaru legacy. i had this model of comps in my explorer and took them out when i traded it in. one of the mids was giving me problems at the time, so i contacted jbl. i sent back everything to them, and they sent me a brand new component system (not just new mids, all new!!). well im finally getting around to putting them in my new car. they are too deep for my doors. with spacers to avoid the window, the door panel will not fit back on properly. there are some other things I could try, but Im lazy and would prefer to simply sell them and buy a set of components that I can fit in my doors, or trade for a set.

condition: NEW, never seen power. however, i have opened the box and attempted to install one of the mids and one tweeter, so one of the mids will have some installation marks on the magnet (no blemishes on the cone or anything though). the other mid and tweeter is still factory sealed. both crossovers are still sealed. comes with all parts, pieces, and manual. has brackets to surface mount the tweeter, flush mount it, or flush mount it at an angle.

they sounded AWESOME in my explorer, and I am really disappointed that I wont use them this time around. the titanium tweeter did not sound 'tingy' or hiss at all at high volumes. they took power like a champ. there is no way Ill be able to fit anything this nice in my vehicle.

i have over 10,000 posts under various names on sounddomain, good ebay feedback, and sold a sub on SD few months ago that got positive feedback here.

i looked around and the only easy way to find them brand new is on ebay ($300+ shipping). I will ask for $250 + actual shipping/packaging. I am also interested in a 6.5inch comp set that is more shallow than the GTis (the GTis have a mounting depth of 2.75 inches).

i would prefer paypal, but would accept personal checks and money orders.

any questions or comments.... post here, PM me, AIM me @ perfect12point1, or email me @ perfect12point1@aol.com.

thanks for looking!

thanks for the bump. yes, they are awesome speakers and im really upset that i cant use them, especially since they are new all over again. i havent heard every speaker out there, but these are some of the best ive ever heard.

I was debating replacing my perfects with the 608's but i am kinda scared of the basket, i had quite a time jamming my infinity's in the factory doors. I just like the idea of the midbass these things could produce with a good amp. If you are looking for some shallow mount comps, i know for sure CDT makes some. Its their Eurofit series, you might want to check into that. Of course there is always the Polk SR6500's if you are wanting to drop about $600-700 on a set. They use the same tweeter as Polk's top of the line home audio line.

im not sure what ill be going with, i really havent kept up much with the new products since i got the GTIs. ill probably just use whatever money i get from these on my new set. i dont need anything super thin, but they gotta require a bit smaller spacer for me to fit them in. **** new car.
