to make a long story short, a few months ago i got my 15" MK1 brahma reconed to a 12", it took a few months to get done and i finally got to pick it up..... i brought it home and hooked it up(1.7cubes@28Hz powered by a jbl BP600.1@1ohm) and it played fine. but it has a very annoying scraping noise when it plays lets say 40ish Hz and below.
when you tap around the cone of the sub, you can hear a ding in one spot(tapping around 360 degree's around the cone about 3 inches from the surround if that makes sense. and im pretty sure it was just reconed slightly off center/crooked.
anyways, the sub still works, but IMHO it needs a recone. i talked to chad as ascendant audio the other day, and he told me they can easially recone it with avalanche soft parts, and the turn around time would be much quicker than at adire. recones are 100bucks plus shipping.
i would really like to trade this sub for an Ascendant audio Atlas 15" or something similiar. or sell for 200+split shipping. ill even supply a socket and wire if you want to plug it into a wall and have a minute or two of fun. or maybe a nice dts capable home theater reciever.
and if need be i can cut the cone off and check the pole vent and whatnot to make sure everything is still lined up(chad told me how) im pretty sure that there wont be a problem seeing as the 15" with the same motor never made a scrapping noise.

the sub its next to is an assasin 12"
