Frontfill vs Rearfill. Pros and Cons

Maybe when I'm driving in my car down the highway with wind noise, road noise, traffic noise, and all the other assorted distractions, imaging, staging, placement of instruments, etc., isn't really my main concern? Maybe I just wanna hammer and ENJOY my music, instead of overanalyzing the shit out of whether that string bass is at the right-center or far right of the soundstage???

Hahaha.

That's how many people enjoy their music. Also, if you haven't heard a properly setup front stage, it can be easy to not care about imaging.

You have your preferences just like I have mine. If you're happy, then that's all that matters.

Also, my front stage has never had a hard time giving me plenty of output while going about 75-80 on the highway with the windows down. It also keeps the stage at the center of my dash when this loud.

You should try it in a convertable...........

Some of us have spent quite a bit of time listening to world champions systems and don't prefer them. Don't be so quick to dismiss people who don't fall into the SQ category as 'inexperienced'.

Yes, and it's an assumption that people who don't care likely haven't heard a 'proper' setup.
I don't know you so I wouldn't assume you have or have not heard anything. If I wanted to assume that, the sentence would have been worded like this:

"You haven't heard a properly setup front stage so it can be easy to not care about imaging."

That is assuming. You're assuming that I think you haven't heard anything. Understand what is being typed and don't get butt hurt if somebody disagrees with you. I don't think I'm better or worse than you nor do I care what you enjoy listening to. I was just getting my opinion out.

What the **** is "front fill"?? That's the lamest thing I have ever heard.
It's called rear fill because it should be used to add a little fill the sound and not be as strong as your front stage.

I have tried both just fronts and then with rear fill and every time, I hate the rear fill. It's personal preference but there are other reasons behind it.

A proper front stage should center everything in front of you and the stage should be wide and full. If you have this, there is no need for any rear speakers that mess up this staging. I don't even like sounds behind me when I watch a movie as I find it annoying. The only time I have enjoyed that was with a properly setup SACD entertainment system.

Hmm.... pretty much sounds like you telling people what something "should" sound like.

If you don't want to stand behind your own words, maybe you shouldn't type them. Not butt-hurt, just pointing out a hypocrite. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Enjoy.

Enjoy.
That IS what a proper front stage should sound like. Will everybody like it? Nope. Is that fine? Yep. I'm not telling people what they should enjoy; there is a huge difference there. That's why I said it was personal preference. I think you're confusing a subjective term with an objective term. A proper setup would be one that has a perfectly flat frequency response with perfect staging and imaging to reproduce the music exactly how it was recorded. Guess what? Most people don't like that sound, myself included. That doesn't mean what I like is bad but it is not the proper way.

I thought we were talking about how I supposedly assumed that you haven't heard anything except your own setup?

Wow, this is really funny.
It's another example of people telling other people how they 'should' like their music to sound. lol

If someone doesn't give 2 shits about imaging and staging, only wants their music to 'fill up' their car, be loud, clean, clear, and hammer, then who the **** cares about if they use only front speakers to do it, or rear AND front?

Who the **** is anyone to tell me what my system 'should' sound like?

Once again.... if SQ competition and imaging and staging are not my goals, then all your above arguments are out the window.
nice.
