Fresh paint, OK to wax??

Wax outdated? It's still more popular then sealant from what I've seen. I was told it's normally good to wait 90days before you put wax on it, it is ok to polish though.
It's still more popular simply because most people have never even heard of it. That and sealant is more expensive, and people tend to stick to traditional methods. It looks better on some paints when freshly applied, but after a few days they look the same.

Don't get me wrong. I still use wax on some of my client's vehicles, especially the nicer ones (although I usually use it in conjunction with sealant). But there is really no need to wax your car 5-6 times a year when you can achieve better results with a sealant once or twice a year.

I would wait 90 days, If you want to shine it up use polish, just like wax but no Sealants.the paint is not fully cured until 90 days. PPG will not warranty paint with wax on it within the 90 days. otherwise there is a lifetime warranty for pealing and blemishing.

yup... As long as it is a base clear application, it has peolly been polished with a wheel already. Anything you do by hand isnt going to harm the paint. Now, if it something like single stage acrilyc enamel, then wax is not a good idea at this time... Wait at least 30 days in that case!

Well I'd imagine they just used a OEM application process, right? I saw the shop, and they bake everything, and they had to have wet sanded it, because there is absolutely NO orange peel, and the panels do feel glossy, like they've been waxed.

Prolly have been blocked and polished then.. Wax it if it makes you feel better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Spray water on it, see if it beads like a waxed vehicle does.

It does bead. I've already washed it twice since I've gotten the car back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
