So I got four Atomic 8" subs and I was messing with a few ideas like 6th/8th order bandpass or dual chamber reflex... I'm going to put them in my Dodge Durango so space is not an issue and they will be feed 3kw/750rms each.

Here's a few pictures of one for those that have never seen them before

6th order would probably be cool for them; they have alot of thermal capacity but are more limited mechanically (very small cone to spider distance / relatively small surround) -- so keeping cone excursion down and utilizing the higher thermal capacity and strong motor would work well.

Thank you Jacob, your opinion is highly valued!

I've built a ton of boxes before and competed for a number of years but have never actually built a bandpass, from what I understand about tuning a series 6th is that the rear chamber would be tuned to somewhere around 32 hz and the front to about 80 and I have to subtract the amount of port used in the front chamber from the rear chamber's total port length?

Or was I misinformed?

tune the rear chamber to however low you want to play. and keep the port area around 5^2 per cu ft. the tune the front chamber to 60-70ish with 15-20^2 per cu ft.
