I think so, i have actually replaced just the 2007s with the new ones same amp, enclosure, hu, electrical etc... and it was noticeably louder, and IMO sounded much better....... the thing i like most about the new ones is how "hard" and quick they can hit on rock songs.

That sounds like what im looking for. Just wanna know how they would stack up against a sundown SD10 or Dcon

Not over any "good" sub though, such as the dcon and old school fosgate stuff that you mentioned earlier. most of the new fosgate stuff is better than it was 5 years or so ago until recently but still not great. I've installed tons of these newer P3's, P2's, and prime subs and they are all the same generic sounding crap.

i think that the prime series subwoofers are junk, i want to use them as midbasses.

well the sa10 will more than likely get louder, but people also run 1000 watts rms daily to them, if you have extra power maybe this is the route you should consider.

I think all of them are junk honestly. The Prime R1 is a joke. the R2 looks similar to the punch series stuff and just doesn't handle as much power.

Im planning on giving the pair 1000 @ 1 from a memphis PRD1000.1, will set gain as power is needed

If you want to stick with rockford, i would only go with their older subs. not the space-age looking crap. If you are open to other brands, look into the sd-2 from sundown, ssa Dcon, incriminator 187, fi ssd, DC LVL2 (i think in the same league as the others), or similar subs.

well i can get them a bill cheaper and it sounds like there all in the same class. There all going into a single cab sealed so i dont think there should be to juge a differance if i keep em all sealed

Like i said IMO i think that the new p3s are great......and i had a pair of 12 ssds on a saz 1200 and i wasn't really impressed with them being rated at 800rms and all. and thought the sound was sloppy, especially at low volumes. (cant remember the attachments i had on them pretty sure they were fully loaded daily)

yeah it is hard to judge really because others have had great results. just entirely depends on the enclosure and stuff.
