they aren't priced too bad, but does anyone know if they hold a candle to the alpine type E's or R's?

Sound quality? Hell no. SPL hell yes. The He would smoke a E in loudness and or bass and the same with a HE2 and a type R but all depends on wheather you like smooth clear bass or loud boomy bass tne the loud boomy bass is gonna be the fosgates while the clear crisp sound is gonna be the alpines.

wow, i didn't know and he2 could beat a type r...

and yeah i did notice the lack of sound quality in the fosgate at high levels...man they get loud!

Oh yea if set up right. I have made a 15 He2 have more decibal output and go alot lower than a hx2 15 the goal is findin the subs sweet spots and the install a install will do wonders for any kind of sub. But yea in most cases if you gave the averge person both subs and they just hooked it up the HE2 would go lower and louder.

the HE2's can handle just as much power as an HX2 i don't care what the specs are. in fact i blew an HX2 with the same setup in less time then i blew an HE2 each running off 750wrms 1000peak watts. i hit in the low 140's on my dash with 2 HE2 12"s. but yeah the type r would tear the other HE2 up in SQ.

what about a type E compaed to an fosgate HE... not the he2? would that be the same as comparing te typr R to the HE2?

oh ya jlman, if i have a 91 edie baurer bronco (yup the big one) what kind of setup do you recomend?

no i just use the name adam on my some odd 600+ posts that i've made on here , but yeah those are comparable in my opinion if you ask me.
