I am employed at the moment, but looking for a plan B. I am looking for start up financing for a business I would like to start. My credit has taken a hit in the last few years due to high energy costs messing with my tight budget. Since my credit is less than perfect, finding financing is proving to be very difficult. Need about $25k to get running. Looking into private financing right now.

Was laid off in october. Working again now but not making money like I was which sucks because I still have bills that are the same amount as when I was making more money

that sounds like a sweet deal, how did you manage to get that?

i'm going through WIA {workforce investment act} which is state funded and supposed to be in all states and also TRA {trade relief act} federally funded, which is because i lost my job because of oversees competition. AKA they moved to china.

I've been coding websites for money since I was 16... that's what paid for my car, my audio, my computer, and all of my high school endevours... but I got laid off in June, and haven't been able to find a wage job since I have little / no experience.

I just barely got to keep my job and I work in the Oil and Gas companies.

They had to request to keep me. I guess my boss likes me

Of the six Engineers we have two left and maybe left with just one soon.

About 100 people got laid off this week at my work.

I was sure I was gonna be one of the unfortunate ones, but my boss told me they need me.

Was a good feeling to hear that.

An engineer that used to work here said its so bad that he even applied at Subway

You can vote. I just don't want people voting if they don't really have a horse in the race. I'm seriously interested in this and want a somewhat accurate numbers. I realize some people don't take anything seriously so the numbers are always going to be off. But, meh.

I work in IT for a retail chain. They laid off a shitload of people a few weeks ago and I got a notice today with my check that they were cutting off our 401k benefits for the next year at minimum, right behind that there was a free invitation for cake in the cafeteria //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

We also are closing quit a few stores but from what I can tell I am probably going to be somewhat safe unless the entire company goes under.

I mean, the recession has been impacting me far before the market crash. But especially after. No one wants websites coded for them these days. So, my main source of income is shot... so I went to find a minimum wage job, and no one's hiring.
