I had a copy of windows xp but it was SP1 and it was givin to IT majors at my college. Stupid thing is you can't update after the semester is over so I never got SP2. It's worthless.
I think this is all coming back to me now. We bought the computer from best buy 2 years ago like I said. one of the guys there said we needed to make a CD something like a driver/application CD. do you think thats what I need. I still dont think it came with a key code but I will look for it and the CDs in the morning.
almost 3 am here, time for bed. catch you all tomorrow. thanks for that link 2kchevy learning stuff very quickly.
More than likely it came with a restore disc which has the OS on it. You just don't get a retail copy of windows only. It will put all the OEM BS on with it. Your key should be on a sticker affixed to the back or sides of the case somewhere. In most cases the restore CD puts the code in for you anyway. I wouldn't go this route though. I would buy a copy of XP Pro. I also don't condone piracy, so I won't tell you to go that route, but if you must then you must.
I have a copy of WinXP Pro SP2 that doesn't have any activation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif It's some sort of Student version, and it's legit, I have a receipt somewhere.
