*Ford ranger- reliable truck??? need input

So Im shopping for a small P/U and found this one. Its pretty much exactly what Im looking for. Something for work that is dependable. Is this truck worth what the guy is asking for? My dad had an 88' ranger with a 2.9L and that truck took a beating and never failed on him(until it got wrecked while it was parked in front of the house)

i dont know about that engine or that truck in particular. but for my explorer (4L v6 OHV 5 speed) 150k miles total. 82k when i got it from the dealer. so all in all rougly 68k completely trouble free miles...i dont know why people bash on ford so much...

Yeah that's a very good price for that truck if everything checks out. My friend's dad has an auto 6 cyl. ranger and he loves it.

I love my Ranger. Good gas mileage, no problems. I wish it was an extended cab though, I'm 6'3".
