Anyone who drives an explorer from 1992 all the way up to 2000 and has sound deadened their car I could use some help. I'm gonna be sound deadening mine in the coming 2 or 3 weeks and I'd like some tips for anything you guys have done that you found that worked besides just applying to sheet metal.

How do you guys quiet the back window?

How do you deal with the rear windshield wiper vibrating?

Did you guys deaden behind the A and B pillars? Was it worth it?

How many layers did you guys put down and what kind of system are you running?

Anywhere I can get quality deadener that is truly butyl based discounted?

How do I stop my center console from making noise when it vibrates?

And anything else you guys found useful while deadening.

If you don't drive an explorer or you don't have a model in that generation feel free to post and add any useful information, I'll take all of the help I can get. Thanks alot.

well i guess my next step is welding supports into the roof because it flexes about an inch and half. no deadening tho. my car doesnt rattle one bit

I removed my back windshield wiper shortly after installing my first system. Since Ive added bout 6-7layers of raamat BXT an 2 layers on ensolite on the back hatch. Hardly moves an its doin a hell of a job. Ive never tried deadening the A an B pillars, Ive never had problems with them rattling. I have an XLS so my center console is a lil different than the rest but only time it make noise whens an empty can or cell phone is in the cupholders. An 1 tip on deadening the back hatch is make sure you leave enough space where the panel mounts back. I had a ***** with mine cause i deadened too close to the opening

i have had some pretty big system in my explorer before and the only thing that gave me a problem was the roof but my explorer has a sun roof so that caused it.

i just put in a daily driver system that can do 150db in a 2000 explorer with no sun roof and it is fine. if ever need be i would say deaden the roof.

one thing you should know though is the roof braces will break. i cant imagine anything under 150 doing it though.
