Saleen is not that Pricy...LOL...Steve Saleen is one hell of a engine builder...lets put the S7 vs. anything...now I'd like to see something beat that...

Mosler. i don't remember the model, but i know that it beats the hell out of the saleen on the racetrack. and the McLaren F-1. may not beat it in acc. but it should beat it in Top Speed. and there is another car manufacturer in Sweeden who makes a car that is quicker than the F-1, but the body of the car isn't as aerodynamic, so it can't go as fast. I'll get back to you with the name, it is in my magazine collection.

I've only been reading Sport Compact Car, and Super Street.

Maybe it's time to get a subscription to C&D, or maybe even a Ford magazine.
Diamond - get Motortrend. It's the best by far.

McLaren??? Formula 1 is kinda different...were talking real cars...

I am.. it is called the McLaren F-1. that is the name of the car. fastest production car on earth. The mosler is real too, and so is the koniegsegg. they are all real, and are all faster than the GT-40 is gonna be. i think mclarens website is probly

http://www.mclaren.com

Edit: here is a pic. gallery of the McLaren F-1.. i don't think that mclaren makes the car anymore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifhttp://www.cottingham.co.uk/macf1/road.htm

Ah, yes...that was way back when...I think this has gotten a little outa hand...lets just keep it in the 100,000 and under range...If I had a mil to blow on a car...I get Steve to re do a 2003 Cobra for me...personally.

What about the new GT-40??? Yeah...

Plus I could have the stang at 700 hp for the price of the Vette, I guarantee...

I thought we were talking stock here from under 100,000 and the vette has the 705 and the GT-40 has only a 500hp thats giving up a lil to much right there thats 205 which is in my bonny

I don't know where you are finding that the stock Vette has 705 hp...

I know they are expensive, but these two cars are a good deal from the standpoint that you get million-dollar-car performance for about $165k:

Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Corvette

802 hp

0-60: 2.0 sec.

1/4mile: 9.2 sec.

Hennessey Viper Twin Turbo Venom

833hp

0-60: 2.4 sec.

1/4mile: 10.0 sec.

I'm not sure about the Corvette, but the Viper did these figures with street tires. With slicks I believe it went 0-60 in 1.8, but I'm not sure about the quarter mile.

Just want to say that the '71 426 hemicuda was sweet enough(not to mention one of my fav cars) and makes me just shudder thinking about it but ****, I never thought of a 498. Where did you find this info?

Another giulty pleasure of mine, Ford Pantera. The domestic import that was one of the longest production cars that no one really know about. They ran less than $15k back in the early '70s and you can still snatch one up now for about $25-$30k in good condition. I know it can't compete well with a lot of cars out there but that is what makes it a guilty pleasure.
